Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a 1.0 FTE Anticipated Probationary Music (Orchestra) Teacher located at our LaGrange Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year.

In addition to knowledge of orchestra literature and excellent conducting skills, the successful candidate will need strong skills in teaching small group string lessons and string pedagogy and technique. The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively is essential. The ability to instruct a variety of styles is a plus and the willingness to conduct extracurricular clubs is desired. Candidates should be well-versed in the use of Google Workspace Suite, including Google Classroom, Google Drive (docs, sheets, slides, etc.), and G-Mail. We are seeking a candidate who not only understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, but is also eager to demonstrate a genuine commitment to fostering these values.

The Arlington Central School District has been recognized nationally with performances at national conferences and competitions as well as in New York State, and has achieved the highest ratings in festivals and adjudications. Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting a Senior Typist for its LaGrange Middle School.  This position would start approximately July 29, 2024, and would have full benefits. This position is responsible for the accurate performance of a wide variety of increasingly difficult keyboarding and clerical duties and requires attention to detail, computer expertise and the ability to multitask under pressure.    

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Performs clerical support functions including project management, database management, record maintenance, skilled keyboarding, calendar management and department reception;
  • Orders supplies for the department;
  • Directs telephone and in-person callers and provides routine information and assistance;
  • Other duties as required by the department Administrator
