Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for an Assistant Supervisor of Transportation.  This is an important position reporting to the Director of Transportation and as an interested applicant would be responsible for the safe, efficient and economical operation of the transportation department.  Supervision is exercised over the work of the transforation department.

A thorough knowledge of school district transportation methods and operations as well as working knowledge of the Department of Transportation regulations as they pertain to NYS Education Law.

Some typical work activities may include:

  • Maintains and investigates accident reports and reports violations to the Supervisor of Transportation;
  • Receives complaints from parents and the public ingeneral regarding school transportion and attempts to rectify problems;
  • Keeps records of mileage, number of pupils carried and number of stops made on each route;
  • Assists with the preparation of transporation reports including cost of operation per vehicle, repairs made and inspections performed;
  • May assst with the preparation of budgetary requeists;
  • May assist with labor relations;
  • Does related work as required.

Bus Driver/Office AssistantCSEA BD/OA 9-24-2024

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time Bus Driver/Office Assistant.  This position combines the duty of regularly driving a school bus with providing clerical office support.  The appointed individual would be on a provisional basis pending successful completion of civil service exam and being reachable on the eligibility list.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Operates a school bus on a regular schedule and/or for special transportation needs;
  • Checks operating condition of the bus before starting trip
  • Maintain orderly conduct of students and passengers while on bus
  • Completes any required paperwork, such as accident or incident reports and vehicle maintenance records;
  • Enter information into computer database from printed copy and handwritten forms;
  • Proofreads, verifies and reconciles database information
  • Compiles and prints reports as requested;
  • Performs routine clerical tasks such as typing correspondence, answering phones, filing and photocopying materials;
  • Related work as required.

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for three (3) Full-Time (10-month) Registered Professional Nurses. This position offers competitive pay and full benefits.  This position involves responsibility for giving care to students and for performing related nursing services such as pupil health screening and notification of defects and communicable disease control.  Interested applicants must have good knowledge of nursing principles and techniques; working knowledge of dietetics, sanitation and personal hygiene; good observation; mental alertness; firmness; initiative and more.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Administer first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees
  • Prepare and maintain health records for school authorities
  • Arranges to transport sick or injured students/employees in cases of emergency
  • Inspects buildings and grounds and reports on general safety and sanitation
  • Orders, inventories and oversees the storage of first aid and health related supplies and equipment

Maintenance CarpenterCSEA Maintenace Carpenter 9-11-2024

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Carpenter (2pm-9:30pm).  This position involves the responsibility for efficient and workman-like performance of a variety of carpentry and cabinet-making tasks requiring good knowledge of the trade.  Interested applicants must have a thorough knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology, accident precautions and the ability to work from plans and specifications. A strong knowledge of masonry work and repair is preferred.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Repairs cabinets, desks, chairs, tables and other similar equipment;
  • Repairs to doors, windows, floors, stair rails;
  • Constructs and installs cabinets, book cases, shelves, closets, etc.;
  • Builds forms for concrete work;
  • Operates woodworking machinery such as lathes, planers, jigsaws, etc.;
  • May perform other maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing masonry or electrical repairs, etc.:

Substitute Teaching Assistants - 24-2524-25 Substitute TAs

The Arlington Central School District is seeking substitute teaching assistants for the 2024/2025 school year.  Interviews will occur on a monthly basis, most likely commencing in September 2024.  The starting rate of pay for a Substitute Teaching Assistant is $16.22/hour.  Current NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred, must have a high school diploma or GED.  Fingerprint clearance will be required if hired.

Substitute Teachers - 24-2524-25 Substitute Teachers

The Arlington Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for per diem substitute teaching positions for the 2024/2025 school year.  Interviews will occur on a monthly basis.  The starting rate of pay for a Certified Substitute Teacher is $129/day and for a Non-Certified Substitute Teacher it is $114/day with the opportunity for a bonus to be paid in July 2025 (see details below).

Certified Teacher

  • Substitute for at least 50 days = $500 bonus, or;
  • Substitute for at least 75 days = $750 bonus, or;
  • Substitute for at least 100 days = $1,000 bonus

Non-Certified Teacher

  • Substitute for at least 50 days = $500 bonus, or;
  • Substitute for at least 75 days = $750 bonus

 

$129/day (certified) or $114/day (non-certified)
