Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Supervisor of Special Education working District Wide effective approximately July 1, 2026

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

The Supervisor of Special Education provides leadership and support to assigned school buildings and/or special education programs.  Specific activities include, but are not limited to the following:

                                                                       

  • Serve as a Chairperson of the CSE and CPSE as applicable
  • Maintain knowledge of current Federal and State laws, regulations, and mandates regarding special education
  • Provide information to the Director and/or Assistant Superintendent to ensure District compliance with the required NYS reporting systems for special education, including but not limited to STAC, IHO, Medicaid, and ESY.
  • Insure conformance and integrity of District IEPs with federal and state timelines, quality, and procedural requirements
  • Work with members of the CSE, CPSE and Subcommittees of the CSE regarding collaboration, process, and practices.
  • Work with all parties to resolve special education issues and disputes.
  • Adhere to Board policies and District Code of Conduct
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services

 

Reports To:  Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services and Director of Special Education

 

Salary:

  • $115,000-$125,000

The Arlington Central School District is seeking substitute teaching assistants for the 2024/2025 school year.  Interviews will occur on a monthly basis, most likely commencing in September 2025.  The starting rate of pay for a Substitute Teaching Assistant is $17.03/hour.  Current NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred, must have a high school diploma or GED.  Fingerprint clearance will be required if hired.

The Arlington Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for per diem Substitute Teacher positions for the 2025/2026 school year.  The starting rate of pay for a Certified Substitute Teacher is $132/full-day and for a Non-Certified Substitute Teacher it is $120/full-day with the opportunity for a bonus to be paid in July 2025 (see details below).  As a per diem substitute your position is based on working either a full-day or half-day.   Interviews will occur on a monthly basis.

Certified Teacher

  • Substitute for at least 50 days = $500 bonus, or;
  • Substitute for at least 75 days = $750 bonus, or;
  • Substitute for at least 100 days = $1,000 bonus

Non-Certified Teacher

  • Substitute for at least 50 days = $500 bonus, or;
  • Substitute for at least 75 days = $750 bonus
