Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time Bus Driver/Automotive Mechanic with full benefits.   This position involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers and the efficient performance of a variety of automotive repair and machinist tasks.  

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Performs skilled operations in making general repairs on gasoline and diesel motor equipment;
  • Grinds valves and fits new bearing, pistons and rings;
  • Assembles and times engines;
  • Operates a bus on a regular schedule and/or on special trips;
  • Checks operating condition of the bus before starting trip;
  • Maintains orderly conduct of students and passengers while on bus;
  • Related work as required.

Automotive Mechanic Helper TraineeCSEA AutoMech Helper Trainee 2/29/24

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for several Automotive Mechanic Helper Trainees.   This is an entry level postion and the selected applicant(s) will receive on the job training in the routine service and maintenance of school buses and other automotive vehicles.  Work is performed under direct supervision.  

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Learns to check tires and repair flats;
  • Learns to change oil and lubricate automotive vehicles;
  • Receives training in grinding valves and fitting bearings, pistons and rings;
  • Receives training in the repair and overhaul of brake systems, differentials, transmissions and front and rear axles;
  • Learns to adjust steering mechanisms and to align wheels;
  • Receives training in the repair of other mechanical equipment;
  • Trains in the repair of electrical systems;
  • May be required to operate a variety of automotive equipment;
  • May be required to drive a school bus;
  • Does related work as required.

Bus Monitor #3CSEA BM 23-24 #3

The Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Bus Monitors.  This position involves responsibility for the routine supervision and care of school-age children as well as the maintenance of order and discipline in a school vehicle.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining order on and around school buses;
  • Intervenes in confrontations and student fights if necessary, attempt to calm students;
  • May escort students to and from special appointments;
  • Monitors students in parking lots and supervises the loading of buses;
  • May assist in rendering of first aid emergencies;
  • Informs superiors of observations of student behavior;
  • Related work as required.

Bus Driver (Part-Time) - #3CSEA BD 23-24 #3

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for Bus Drivers.  This position offers a minimum of 25 hours per week with opportunities to work extra hours and offers benefits.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for safe and efficient operation of a school bus used in the transportation of students on an assigned route;
  • Check the operating condition of a school bus before starting regular run or trip;
  • Report any mechanical defects of a bus to the bus garage;
  • Instruct/inform students and program participants about practices when entering or exiting a bus and while in transit;
  • Maintain orderly conduct of students on the bus

Hourly Bus Driver 23-24CSEA BD - Hourly 23-24

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for hourly Bus Drivers to work up to 18 hours/week.  Current hourly rate is $30/hour. 

  • The interested applicant would be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a school bus used in the transportation of students on an assigned route
  • Check the operating condition of a school bus before starting regular run or trip
  • Report any mechanical defects of a bus to the bus garage
  • Instruct/inform students and program participants about practices when entering or exiting a bus and while in transit
