Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Head Custodian for its Arlington High School effective approximately May 1, 2025.  This is a full-time 12-month position with full benefits.  This position is a working supervisory position.  The selected candidate would lead and participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the building and related materials. 

Typical Work Activities:

• Make regular inspections of buildings and grounds to maintain proper cleaning and maintenance procedures and make recommendations for improvements or equipment;

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting an Automotive Mechanic for its Maintenance Department.   This is a full-time, 12-month position with full benefits.  This position involves skilled work involving responsibility for the efficient and safe performance of a variety of automotive repair and machinist tasks requiring good knowledge of the trade.  

Must have good knowledge of the tools, principles and practices of the automotive and construction equipment mechanic trade; working knowledge of common welding techniques; working knowledge of safety practices and OSHA standards for the trade; demonstrated ability to work from plans and specifications.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

• Performs skilled repairs on gasoline and diesel motor equipment for the maintenance department, including vehicles and small engine repair;
• Runs computerized diagnostic tests on vehicles and compares results with specifications for vehicles to determine servicing and repair needs;
• Performs and directs routine preventive maintenance servicing and inspections;
• Assembles and times engines;
• Repairs or overhauls brake systems, differentials, transmissions, front and rear axles and clutches;
• Adjusts steering mechanisms and aligns wheels;
• Inspects, repairs and replaces automotive electrical system components;
• Participates in snow and ice control activities;
• Related work as required.
