Job Description

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time, 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic.  This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes a full benefits package.  This position involves a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks of a skilled nature.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

• Supervises and/or performs skilled repairs to plumbing, steam lines, electric wiring and equipment, furniture, doors and windows, hardware and varied mechanical equipment and machinery;
• Installs shelving, storage cabinets and new hardware, and performs other skilled carpentry tasks;
• Does skilled painting work;
• Maintains and repairs central heating systems;
• Performs grounds maintenance and maintains athletic and playground facilities;
• Does related work as required

Job Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

• One year of work experience as a journeyman in a skilled trade, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry or steam-fitting; or,
• Four years of experience in either general building construction or in building maintenance work; or,
• An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above.
