***This position is a Competitive Civil Service Position and requires the applicant to be:

1. Reachable on an existing Dutchess County Human Resources Certification of Eligible List; or,
2. Currently working in, or previously held a Bus Driver/Dispatcher civil service title; or,
3. Other candidates who have equivalent education and licensing are encouraged to apply and will be considered as allowed per Civil Service regulations.

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Bus Driver/Dispatcher.  This position involves responsibility for dispatching buses, scheduling drivers, keeping time records and bus driving.  The interested applicant must be able to direct the work of others through radio communication, be able to express ideas clearly, have good judgment and tact.  Other job duties may include:

• Dispatches buses and drivers on assigned routes;
• Schedules drivers, ensuring proper shift rotation and coverage for all bus routes;
• Instructs new drivers about procedures and proper use of equipment
• May operate a bus on a regular schedule and/or special occasions.
• Does related work as required.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year of experience as a bus driver with the use of two-way radio equipment
