Job Description

This position is a Competitive Civil Service Position and requires the applicant to be:

1. Reachable on an existing Dutchess County Human Resources Certification of Eligible List; or,
2. Currently working in, or previously held an Athletic Trainer civil service title; or,
3. Other candidates who have equivalent education and licensing are encouraged to apply and will be considered as allowed per Civil Service regulations.

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for an anticipated 11-month Athletic Trainer.  This position provides care, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries and/or improves the physical fitness of athletes for participation in various sports programs. Under the general supervision of the District Director of Interscholastic Athletics, incumbents in this position are responsible for the care, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries involving student athletes.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; and,
2. Bachelor’s or higher degree in athletic training or closely related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

1. Possession of valid New York certification as an Athletic Trainer in accordance with Article 162 of the New York State Education Law, at time of appointment and to maintain position; and
2. Possession of valid Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification at time of appointment and to maintain position; and,
3. Possession of a valid Driver's License to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at time of application, and to maintain the position.
