Job Description

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Supervisor of Special Education working District Wide effective on or about January 8, 2025

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

The Supervisor of Special Education provides leadership and support to assigned school buildings and/or special education programs.  Specific activities include, but are not limited to the following:

                                                                       

  • Serve as a Chairperson of the CSE and CPSE as applicable
  • Maintain knowledge of current Federal and State laws, regulations, and mandates regarding special education
  • Provide information to the Director and/or Assistant Superintendent to ensure District compliance with the required NYS reporting systems for special education, including but not limited to STAC, IHO, Medicaid, and ESY.
  • Insure conformance and integrity of District IEPs with federal and state timelines, quality, and procedural requirements
  • Work with members of the CSE, CPSE and Subcommittees of the CSE regarding collaboration, process, and practices.
  • Work with all parties to resolve special education issues and disputes.
  • Adhere to Board policies and District Code of Conduct
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services

Salary:

  • $115,000-$125,000

Reports To:  Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services and Director of Special Education

Job Qualifications
  • Possesses New York State Certification for School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL)
  • Demonstrates skills in human relations, communications, problem solving and organization
