Job Description

These positions are considered a Competitive Civil Service Position and requires the applicant to be:

1. This is a competitive Civil Service postion which means that the selected applicant will need to take the Typist Exam, when scheduled, and be reachable on a Dutchess County Human Resources Certification of Eligible List; or,
2. Currently working in, or previously held a Typist civil service title; or,
3. Other candidates who have equivalent education and licensing are encouraged to apply and will be considered as allowed per Civil Service regulations.

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a 10-Month Typist.  This position will be at the Arlington High School and provides confidential secretarial and clerical support for their building and related administrators.  

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

• General clerical duties including telephone skills, typing/word processing, filing and office organization
• Greet visitors, staff and students in a professional and accommodating manner
• Collate materials
• Organize materials for mailings
• Open and distribute mail
• Other duties as required by the department Administrator
